Sadie Olsen is a composer who has had multiple pieces of music performed at the University of Utah – where she is currently studying. She writes classical vocal music, with a focus on opera. Her work focuses on themes of gender, sexuality and love. Often drawing from classical sources, Sadie depicts stories from older works such as Orlando Furioso and Greek mythology. Sadie arranges her own text from these works. Sadie depicts characters through music that her audience can both empathize with and see themselves represented in.
